BRIEF

Sampa is a female activewear brand with a strong focus on inclusivity, functionality and sustainability. With the average bra size in the UK being 36DD, data shows that the average woman will struggle with breathing difficulties, chafing and having to wrestle to get their sports bras on and off. Sampa is reinventing the way sports bras work for women with fuller busts and we were tasked with creating a brand identity that matched their passion.

The Sampa icon was inspired by three key elements - the body, movement and beauty, with a touch of the 70s. The 70s is often coined as the “Me Decade,” where shifts in social values were most prevalent in female rights and a growing emphasis on individualism. Sampa aims to embody these themes and influences by incorporating the graphic and stylistic fashion choices of the 70s into its identity. Bold, curvy lettering and distinctive swashes of retro fonts serve as a nod to this iconic era.
